Comparison and contrast- Draft 1

Small grocery stores and large supermarket stores are operated by different forms. Nowadays, more and more people tend to go to large supermarket to look for their demand. Small grocery is fall out of use little by little. We can divide into three points. That’s price, service, and food. In contrast, we can easily understand what’s the different between small grocery stores and large supermarket.

The first points of their distinctions are “the price”. Large supermarket have contractors. They are cooperated with each other, and sign the contract. They can not only lower their price but also promote the turnover. In contrast, small grocery is more expensive than large supermarket. Because they are smalltimer, they have to advance the price for each item. Therefore, they are possible to make benefits.

The second points are “service”. The employees in the large supermarket have enough training before enter to the company. The company has perfect training system to teach freshman how to communicate with customers and how to take care of something when some troublesome happened. For small grocery, the boss only care about revenue. The service is not very important for small grocery stores. Consequently, the service in supermarket are standing to reason better than normal grocery.

The last points are “food”. Large supermarket have an importer to contract and undertake cases, so they have diverse foods that provide the supplier choose whatever they like. Also, the foods in the large supermarket are fresher than small grocery stores, because the supermarket has the icehouse to store foods. It keeps foods fresh, and they throw away the expired foods. However, small grocery stores are lack of competitiveness. The foods are limited and there are no promises if something happened after we eat it.

In conclusion, although large supermarket stores are better than small grocery stores, small grocery stores are still needed by people. That may because some grocery stores are near by our places. That’s more convenient than go to supermarket. The other reason is that grocery stores are a small outlet. We can find items out easier than in large supermarket. Perhaps the grocery stores will close gradually in the future, it’s impossible disappeared completely. The supermarket and grocery are demanded by people in different situation.
